A religious mind is always enquiring, searching, seeking whether I can meet the Divine, or can I know the Divine.
Divine is the knower of everything and no one can ever know him. In order to know somebody, there have to be two things. One, the person knowing and the other being the object. Divine is not the object, its subjectivity. Divine is Is-ness.
How can the BEINGNESS be known? It itself is the source. So, the only information which has to be understood thoroughly is knowing about IN-formation. The Feeling of myself, Existential Understanding, the Knowledge of I-Am-ness. Rest every information is OUT-formation.
Indian Mystics have crowned a very good word ‘Tappa’ ( तप in Hindi ) for the seeker in order to know the Divine. Since you cannot know the Absolute, the only thing required is that you need to meet yourself in order to be part of it. Iceberg can become a part of the ocean only when it breaks and melts itself from its form. Iceberg then doesn’t remain in solid form, it has now become water. Iceberg was a tip of that vast ocean but in order to meet the ocean fully, it needs to melt itself down.
The spiritual journey for the seeker is also in a similar mode. He needs to break his Ego, dissolve himself to be a part of the WHOLE. Subjectivity is Spirituality.
