The word ‘Prayer’ gives a wrong connotation & then it’s uttering becomes a Mechanical ritual. The real word should be ‘Prayerfulness’. For a common man, the word prayer simply means sitting in front of an idol or a murti with a list of his demands. This is to convey the message to the Gods that this is what I want. This also means a definite signal to the Existence that God’s creation knows better than the Creator Himself. But is this the true Prayer? How can a child know more than the parents what is right for him? The real prayer should be then to be in a state of ‘Prayerfulness’. Only when the seeker attains this state of prayerfulness, the correct prayer flows from him. But this state of ‘prayerfulness’ comes only when the seeker remains no more, when he himself is blissful, only then the words of Gratitude outflow automatically from him. This Gratitude then becomes the Expression of Blissfulness & not the routine mundane activity of showing Gratitude. This expression of Gratitude is truly the Real Prayer.
